New Zealand replaces Fiji as host of Oceania Under 17

New Zealand is to take over as host of the Oceania Under 17 men's World Cup football qualifiers, replacing Fiji.

Fiji's Football Association suggested New Zealand replace Fiji for the April tournament because there is too much damage due to the recent floods.

Oceania Football's General Secretary, Tai Nicholas, says Fiji's national team may not even be able to train OR participate.

"Some of their schools are closed, and the kids can't train. And if they did come, whether the New Zealand Government will let them in. We've previously, late last year, put in a request to the New Zealand Government to let Fiji teams come through New Zealand, and they've accepted them, so we don't anticipate there being a problem, should they still wish to enter the tournament."
