A committee has been formed to help coordinate, facilitate and host cruise ships lined up to visit Solomon Islands through the year.

The 'Citizenship Facilitation Committee' is comprised of staff of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Destination Solomon's, Police and the National Museum of Solomon Islands.

The marketing manager of the Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau, Karen Foimua, says the committee is formed purposely to help coordinate tourists on cruise boats coming into the country.

The committee will host tourists with programs during their visit and also provide entertainment throughout their stay.

A cruise boat, Silver Whisper, with about 130 passengers, traveling from the United States of America, was in the Solomon's over the weekend.
