Japan gives aid for Solomon Islands flood victims

Japan has given Solomon Islands 103 thousand US dollars in disaster relief following the flooding on Guadalcanal and Savo.

At least ten people died in the flooding.

The assistance, through Japan's International Cooperation Agency, will help provide items such as water purification units, water tanks and Gerry cans.

It will be co-ordinated through the National Disaster Centre.
