Samoa's Minister of Justice and Courts says the Ministry of Police and Prisons must stop letting prisoners go and live with government senior officials while they are serving their sentence.
Unasa Mesi Galo has described the practice as an abuse of power.
Sources say those prisoners have been doing work for several government officials and senior public servants.
Unasa's call comes as a report on weekend partole is still before the cabinet.
He says the report will be discussed in cabinet next week when the prime minister returns from overseas.
