Info Tech American Samoa says its 50-seat call centre should be up and running once the undersea fiber optic cable is connected in the middle of the year.

A managing director for the company, Tim Montgomery, recently presented the company's plans to the local Chamber of Commerce.

Mr Montgomery says that Info Tech has identified possible sites and is working with the government on a lease and business license.

He says once that's in place they hope to start construction of a facility that is appropriate for American Samoa.

He says the initial 50 seat call centre is the draw card for future clients.

"We want to bring the best client here first and get people excited so we can go back to the world and say American Samoa is providing this type of support to this client."
