Fiji is advertising internationally for a High Court judge.

Advertisements for the role have appeared in Fiji and overseas, including New Zealand and Australia this week.

Fiji's high court chief registrar, Emosi Koroi, says the country has twelve high court judges, but the interim government has approved 15.

"The High Court is in the process of recruiting some more judges. We advertise it overseas also, according to the instructions I get in Australia and New Zealand to select the best possible we can get, judge I mean."

Emosi Koroi says the ideal candidate should have held high judicial positions or should have had at least seven years experience as a barrister or solicitor.
