The FBI, the U.S. Secret Service, and local police in the Northern Marianas, have arrested three people for allegedly paying with fake money at some stores on Saipan.
They have been charged with counterfeiting.
The federal agencies have recently conducted training to help business and law enforcement representatives recognise counterfeits.
They believe that people involved in illegal drugs are behind the circulation of the fake bills.
