Fiji's Commerce Commission is soon to make an announcement on its decision on a review of the telecommunication price control order.

The Fiji Times reports Chairman Mahendra Reddy as saying it would be one week before he released details of the approach he has taken.

Dr Reddy says he has written to industry leaders explaining the approach he had taken.

The newspaper reports the review of the telecommunication price control order has faced great controversy in the past few weeks.

Telecom Fiji Limited chief executive Taito Tabaleka has been sent on leave by the board over concerns of operational matters.

It is understood that differences between the parties stemmed from the company's application for a review of the telecommunication price control order.

This has resulted in in-fighting between the company and some companies under Amalgamated Telecom Holdings.

The commission had asked for submissions following a directive from interim Attorney-General and Trade and Commerce Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum on whether the price order should be revoked or amended.
