American Samoa's Department of Education is to receive 618,000 US dollars from the American government for its Samoan language programme for grades K to 12.
The funds will be used to provide teacher training and instructional material development.
The funds will be released to the local Department of Education as soon as the U.S. Department of Education completes the necessary paperwork.
