Fiji's SDL director taken in for questioning by military

10:04 am on 20 March 2009

The outspoken director for Fiji's former ruling SDL Party, Peceli Kinivuwai, was taken in for questioning by the military yesterday.

Mr Kinivuwai would not say much, except that he had been taken to the army camp in Nabua for some general questions relating to the SDL Party.

He told Fiji Live the army wanted to be clear about SDL's stand on some pending issues and he cleared those issues with them.

Meanwhile, the Military spokesman Major Nuemi Leweni confirmed that Mr Kinivuwai had been taken in for questioning last night.

Mr Kinivuwai has, on various occasions, spoken publicly against the interim regime.
