Fiji's PSC to appoint another military officer

Fiji's Public Service Commission is in the process of appointing another military officer into the civil service.

The acting PSC chairman, Dr Mohammed Yunush, said they had identified Major Nemani Vuniwaqa to be the acting immigration director.

He added that a lot of people in the civil service were reluctant to take up the post because they would be placed on travel ban list.

The Fiji Times says Major Vuniwaqa is replacing Commander Viliame Naupoto, who is the new Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office.

The reshuffle of ministry heads were done last week by the PSC
