The high court of Solomon Islands has been asked to review the circumstances surrounding Australian lawyer Julian Moti's controversial arrest and deportation.

Acting on behalf of Attorney General Gabriel Suri, the Deputy Solicitor General, Steven Woods, contested the application saying it is too late and the application should be dismissed.

Representing Julian Moti, former public solicitor to Solomon Islands, Ken Averre, asked the court to review the case saying the deportation was illegal.

The case is expected to be in the courts till sometime this month.
