American Samoa's Chamber of Commerce president pleased with TWIC

American Samoa's Chamber of Commerce president, David Robinson, says he is pleased with the federal government's final rule which waives the Transportation Worker Identification Credential requirement for maritime workers entering the Pago Pago port security area.

Because American Samoa has its own immigration laws outside those of the US immigration laws; and because American Samoa has approximately 87 percent of maritime workers that are non-citizens workers, TWIC requirements for American Samoa ports have been waived.

Mr Robinson says the private sector is very pleased with the efforts taken by the local Coast Guard on behalf of the business community.
