The mobile phone company Digicel, which is headquartered in Jamaica, has been asked to revise its request to operate in French Polynesia.

Digicel has been engaged in talks with the government in Papeete for months, but last week it was asked to re-start its bidding procedure.

Oceania Flash says Digicel was alleged to have failed to follow the proper procedure for its bid.

Digicel has entered the mobile phone market in five regional countries: Vanuatu, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tonga.
