Fiji's interim government says trade talks with region will continue despite suspension

Fiji's interim Attorney General says its suspension from the Pacific Islands Forum will not stop bilateral relations and trade talks with many of the region's nations.

Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said talks will continue because of Fiji's strong ties with the Pacific and other regions.

Fiji was suspended from the he Forum on Friday night.

The Forum Chairman, Toke Talagi said it was because of the failure by the interim Prime Minister to address constructively by May the 1st the expectations of Forum Leaders to return Fiji to democratic governance in an acceptable time frame.

But Mr Sayed-Khaiyum told Fiji village that Fiji is willing to talk and engage with the Forum and review its position
