Fiji's interim prime minister says he believes the governments of Australia and New Zealand are trying to collapse Fiji's economy.

Fijivillage quotes Commodore Frank Bainimarama as saying he knows these two countries are pushing hard to ensure Fiji isn't assisted by international bodies, including the United Nations, the European Union and the Asian Development Bank.

However Commodore Bainimarama says Fiji will continue to move on the path it has taken.

He says Fiji's economy can be drastically affected if Australia and New Zealand decide on trade sanctions.
