Absence of a lease with American Samoa govt delays call centre

The absence of a lease with American Samoa Government, not the increase in minimum wages is said to be the biggest factor delaying the call centre company, Info Tech American Samoa from moving forward.

Company official, John Newton, said we simply cannot go any further with our planning, financing or client contacts until we can have a fully executed lease in place.

Mr Newton pointed out that Governor Togiola agreed to terms of the land lease in the agreement signed between the government and Info tech in April of last year.

However up to now there is still no lease.

As a result he said the company has not been able to make any meaningful progress.
