Virgin coconut oil from Samoa will be available and sold in Body Shop products around the world from this month.
Women in Business Development Incorporated has partnered up with the Body Shop's community trade programme and another company Earth Oil in the UK.
CEO Adi Tafuna'i says that the Body Shop has taken a keen interest in the production process and know every supplier personally by name.
"They pay regular visits to Samoa. They've also brought in another fair trade company into the relationship and it is this company, Earth Oil, that has worked through the shipping logistics and the quality control issues with us. The Body Shop ethical trade manager makes regular visits to Samoa. The bath and body products containing our virgin coconut oil will be available in body shops around the world, from this month."
Adi Tafuna'i says its been a steep learning curve, but she says they are pleased that the Body Shop came on board.
She was addressing delegates at the Pacific Wave weathering the economic storm conference which got underway today in Auckland.
