Solomons lawyer on run following alleged swindle

Solomon Islands police are hunting a lawyer who has been accused of swindling more than a million dollars he has kept in trust for a client.

Police say the lawyer, Charles Wesley Levo, is avoiding police investigators from the Criminal Investigation Division.

Mr Levo's client is a Australian businessman who had reported the missing money to the police.

The crime investigators began visiting a number of addressses in Honiara earlier in the week including Mr Levo's Chinatown office where he runs a private law practice.
