Fiji's National Federation Party sceptical over regime's moves to launch national roadmap

Fiji's National Federation Party says it's difficult to take seriously the interim government's plans for a roadmap to move the country forward.

Commodore frank Bainimarama has told FijiLive the roadmap will be launched at a political leaders' forum in a couple of weeks.

The leader of the National Federation Party, Pramod Rae, says the move is welcome if it means an early return to democracy but he doubts that's the case.

"Any roadmap that is announced without the involvement and concurrence of the representatives of the Fiji community would not have a lot of credibility. So we are watching this development with interest. We will see what the next step is that Mr Bainimarama is going to take."

Pramod Rae says inclusive political dialogue was killed when the interim government excluded four major political parties from any discussions.
