Samoa's Ministry of Health has confirmed its first swine flu case after a visiting Australian student tested positive.

30 students had been in quarantine since last week after four of them had fallen ill.

They have been treated with Tamiflu.

The ministry says it continues to try to track any other possible close contacts the group might have had before being put into quarantine.

The ministry says there is no cause for alarm, but calls on the public to avoid unnecessary gatherings.
