Fiji's Health Ministry says it'll use medical students to help staff the health sector should there be a mass swine flu outbreak.

The country has now ten confirmed cases of swine flu.

The Health Minister Dr Neil Sharma told the Fijilive website that they have a pandemic plan in place.

Mr Sharma says they also plan to deploy staff and students from the Fiji School of Medicine in case of a swine flu related doctor's shortage.

The country has enough anti-viral drugs to treat about two percent of the population.
