US grants Fiji's Air Pacific rights for new Honolulu service

4:16 pm on 10 July 2009

The U.S. Department of Transportation has granted an exemption for the Fiji carrier Air Pacific to operate weekly flights between Nadi and Honolulu via Apia in Samoa.

Air Pacific applied for the exemption last month to engage in scheduled air transportation of persons, property, and mail.

The application was granted in Washington D.C. as there were no objections.

According to the Department, the exemption is for a year until July the 9th 2010.

It's not clear when Air Pacific will start this new service.
