The Oceania Football Confederation has confirmed that the new Pacific Cup tournament could be staged as early as November.

OFC General Secretary, Tai Nicholas, says the tournament will be played in either Suva or Lautoka.

He has also confirmed that six countries, Fiji, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu will take part in the tournament.

Talks are underway with a mobile network telecommunication company to sponsor the Pacific Cup.

Nickolas adds that if they fail to stage the tournament in November - it will surely take place in March 2010.
