Three more Fiji Methodist clergy questioned by police

Fiji's Methodist Church says three more clergy were questioned and released by police yesterday.

Police took five people in for questioning on Tuesday following the detention of more than a dozen people in the past week.

Four church leaders have been charged with violating emergency regulations and released on bail until a second court hearing on the 13th of August.

The detentions follow the church's defiance of the interim government's decision to ban its annual conference.

The police were unable to confirm the latest detentions.
