Northern Marianas Public Health suspects 20 people may have H1N1

The Northern Marianas Public Health Medical Director, Richard Brostrom, says they think more than 20 people have contracted the H1N1 flu virus

Dr Brostrom says the 20 people presumed to have the H1N1 virus are only those who have been monitored with flu-like illnesses in various clinics on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.

He says many have been tested with the rapid flu-test that would be sent to Texas for further evaluation.

But he says that the health department may not even have to send the tests to Texas because the various clinics in the CNMI now have the capacity to do it.

He said the CNMI has only one hospitalised case and the patient is now doing well at home.
