Passengers and crew on a plane missing in Papua confirmed dead says airline

The managing director of Merpati Nusantara Airlines says all 12 passengers and three crew members of a Otter aircraft which crashed in Amisibil, in Indonesia's Papua last Sunday, are confirmed dead.

Bambang Bhakti says information on the fate of the passengers and crew were gathered by the search and rescue team.

He also says information was gathered Amisibil residents who managed to enter the crash site by walking through the moutainous area.

On Sunday morning, the plane disappeared for several hours after taking off from Sentani airport to head for Oksibil in the Bintang mountainous district.

The plane was located yesterday.
