The former Chief Justice of Fiji, Daniel Fatiaki has been sworn in as a Supreme Court Judge in Vanuatu.

A month after the 2006 Fiji coup, the interim regime suspended Mr Fatiaki and he was subsequently charged with a range of misconduct offences while the interim government investigated his alleged involvement in the 2000 coup.

He resigned as Fiji's Chief Justice in December last year in an agreement he would receive a payout of more than 200 thousand Fiji dollars from the interim regime.

Our correspondent in Vanuatu Len Garae says Daniel Fatiaki was last week sworn in as a Supreme Court Judge in the country for two years.
