PNG hands over US$1.5m to help fund Solomon Island students studying in PNG

The Solomon Islands Government has been given US$1.5 million US dollars by the Papua New Guinea Government to help fund Solomon Islands students studying at PNG tertiary institutions.

It will go towards their tuition fees, boarding and allowances.

The money was formally handed over by the Solomons High Commissioner to PNG, Bernard Bata'anisia, at a ceremony in Waigani.

Since 2006, the PNG Government has given the Solomons over US$4 million to support the education and training of Solomon Islands students in PNG.
