The Solomon Islands Commission of Inquiry on land transactions and acquisition on Guadalcanal ahead of the ethnic tension era is expected to start soon.

The Solomon Times Online reports that two members of the commission from Fiji and Vanuatu are due in Honiara this week.

Pastor Manua Rabuka from Fiji and Stephen Tahi from Vanuatu will be joined by the commission's Chairman, Brian Brenton from Papua New Guinea, who is due to arrive at the weekend.

Mr Brenton had formerly chaired the Commission of Inquiry into the rioting in Honiara in April 2006.

The Solomons government established the Commission as part of its national reconciliation policy.
