Bread prices go up in Fiji

11:33 am on 1 September 2009

Fiji's Prices and Incomes Board has today announced increases in the wholesale and retail prices of bread.

Fiji live reports the PIB said the change in prices followed the increase in the price of baker's flour and wholemeal baker's flour.

Effective from tomorrow, the new prices mean a polythene-wrapped long loaf will now cost two cents more.

The price of an unwrapped long loaf goes up from 66 cents to 70 cents while a wholemeal medium wrapped 800g loaf will cost an extra five cents.

The same loaf, sliced, will cost increase eight cents.
