The Solomon Islands Minister of Finance and Treasury, Snyder Rini, has announced that vehicle licence fees will increase by 25 per cent as of next month.
This increase will also apply to associated vehicle registration fees including driving license and inspection fees for all vehicles.
Mr Rini says updating these fees is timely as it has been 12 years since they were last updated.
He claims that the fee increase is reasonable given the need for the users of the country's roading system to assist in paying for its maintenance and upkeep.
