The Appellate Court in American Samoa has reaffirmed the trial court's decision in awarding the paramount chief Satele title to Galu T. Satele Jr after an appeal was filed by Moso'oi Mapu.

In the appellate court decision, the judges said they have reviewed the records and considered the issues raised on appeal and found no reversible error in the trial court's opinion,

The paramount chief title has been vacant for more than two decades and the trial court awarded the title last year after a lengthy trial.

Satele is currently the Western District Governor, a post appointed by the governor with consensus of the district leaders.
