American Samoa based airline, Inter Island Air is expected to take delivery of its 30 passenger Dornier aircraft this week.

The chairman of the House Transportation Committee, Vaitoa Hans Langkilde, announced on the House floor at the weekend that the arrival of the new aircraft would see the expansion of Inter Island's flight service to other neighboring islands.

Airline officials announced in April that they hoped to fly to Tonga, Fiji and Wallis and Futuna.

The airline is awaiting the completion of a new hangar at the airport to house the aircraft.
