Lawmakers in American Samoa have approved one point three million US dollars to fund repairs to the Government's interisland vessel, MV Sili.

The ship is currently idle on Pago Pago Harbour awaiting the repair work.

The Senate gave its approval today while the House endorsed the measure more than a week ago.

The source of funding for the project, comes from an investment account off-island and unobligated revenues for the fiscal year 2009.

The bill now goes to the Governor for consideration.

If sign into law, will go into effect immediately.
