Bus shortage in Samoa affects worker attendance at Yazaki Samoa

11:28 am on 15 September 2009

The shortage of buses in Samoa due to the road switch is affecting worker attendance at Yazaki Eds Samoa.

The company's management has told the Samoa Observer that since the switch only 60 per cent of the employees arrive at 7 am when work normally starts.

The company's policy is for any worker who arrives after 7am not to be allowed into the premises.

The company says all 900 employees are needed to meet orders.

There are hopes that there will be more buses next week amid concern over transport bottle necks when school starts.
