The Oceania indoor football, or futsal, champion team Solomon Islands is to play a friendly fundraising match against a team from the Regional Assistance Mission this evening in Honiara.

The five-a-side match is a one-off match to help raise funds for equipment and uniforms to support the Kurukuru team's upcoming trip to the Futsal Confederations Cup next month in Libya.

RAMSI has committed to donating 500 Solomon Islands dollars, or about 70 US dollars, for each goal scored by Kurukuru against them, with the contribution to double to a maximum of ten thousand Solomon Islands dollars should the Kurukuru side score 10 or more goals.

The Kurukuru squad is the Oceania representative at the Futsal Confederations Cup and will compete against Guatemala, Iran, Spain, Uruguay and hosts Libya.
