The Vanuatu president has appointed Lieutenant Joshua Bong as the country's new police commissioner.
Lieutenant Bong replaces Lui Patu Navoko whose contract expires tomorrow.
President Iolu Johnson Abil attended the ceremony during which the responsibility for the police force was transferred to Lieutenant Bong.
His contract is for four years.
