PNG Authority wants to streamline investment policies

Papua New Guinea's Investment Promotion Authority is trying to streamline the country's investment policies to smoothen the flow of foreign direct investments into the country.

The newspaper, the National reports the IPA managing director Ivan Pomaleu as saying the liquefied natural gas project has triggered a high level of interest from foreign investors.

Mr Pomaleu says his agency has been challenged with increased facilitation and regulation activities from major foreign direct investment in the country.

He says that IPA's certification database had shown at increase in investment activities last year from 2007.
