Eight deaths on New Caledonia's roads over weekend

There have been eight deaths on New Caledonia's roads over the weekend.

In one accident, four people were killed apparently after driving too fast.

In another crash, a woman and two of her children died when their car fell 30 metres down a slope.

Road fatalities are proportionately more frequent than in mainland France, with excessive speed and drink driving often the cause of the accidents.
