NZ's PM says no change to Fiji travel policy

The New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key, says there will be no change to the travel policy for those living in Fiji wanting to visit New Zealand.

Since 2006, a travel ban has been in place for people associated with Fiji's military government.

Earlier this month, Fiji expelled New Zealand's Acting Head of Mission in Suva, blaming interference by New Zealand with the functioning of Fiji's judiciary.

John Key says New Zealand wants to improve relations with Fiji, and had been intending to boost the number of diplomats there.

He says any progress requires give and take on both sides, but there has been none by Fiji.
