RCA Consultants, the team writing the long term tourism master plan for American Samoa has started to get input from groups on their views of how tourism should be developed.

Cate Thero, Mark Kiner and Bill Crump have already visited Manu'a.

They say that the territory's National Park could be a tourist magnet.

Bill Crump stressed that the plan they will draw up will be based on what can be developed with available resources.

"We are really here to listen and to find out about what are the things that would be of interest not only to tourism but the point of education and what is going to be needed, whether its the community college or other avenues and perhaps understanding what those expectations are and to move towards a more mature tourism market."

Bill Crump from RCA Consultants.

The tourism plan is expected to be completed within six months.
