CNMI Governor reassures tourists after Friday's shooting

The Governor of the Northern Marianas, Benigno Fitial says the CNMI still remains a safe place for residents and tourists despite the shooting rampage on Friday.

A gunman opened fire in Saipan killing four people, two of them children, and wounding eight Korean tourists

He later took his own life.

Benigno Fitial says he is saddened by the appalling action of a single individual that has caused so much harm to the community.

Mr Fitial says he wants residents and visitors to know that the Commonwealth, which is popular with Japanese and Korean tourists, is still a safe place.
