Fiji's Disaster Management Committee has confirmed that the cost of the country-wide damage caused by Cyclone Mick is an estimated $13million US dollars.

Acting Director Pajiliai Dobui told FijiLive that while rehabilitation work continues in some areas, the damage caused by Cyclone Mick was far less than the impact of the floods that hit Fiji in January this year.

He said the cost to repair the damage caused by the flooding was put at over 100 million Us dollars.

Mr Dobui says several non government organizations as well as the Australian, New Zealand and French governments have provided financial support to help those affected by the cyclone.

The affected areas in the central, west, east and northern divisions are receiving relief as well as power and water restoration.
