The Nadi Weather Office says a tropical cyclone gale warning remains in force for the southern Cook Islands.
The latest report we have places Tropical Cyclone Nisha about 145 nautical miles south-southwest of Palmerston, and about 280 nautical miles west-northwest of Rarotonga.
It is currently moving southeast at seven knots but is expected to gradually turn east in the next 18 to 24 hours.
Winds close to the centre are estimated at 40 knots with momentary gusts to 65 knots.
