The Samoa Tourism Authority or STA will soon announce a new Miss Samoa to continue the current reign after the first runner up of last year's beauty pageant winner resigned.
Miss Samoa USA Tuisalei'a Hope Pomele took over the reign from last year's competition winner, Jacinta Bourne, who quit in November, two months after being crowned Miss Samoa for 2009 to 2010.
Tuisalei'a Hope Pomele told reporters her suitability and identity as a Samoan was questioned by the administrators of the STA an allegation vehemently denied by CEO, Matatamalii Sonja Hunter.
Miss Samoa USA says she was appalled to be called a liar and not a Samoan by people in the STA.
She says her suitability was questioned in an offensive and disrespectful manner.
