Policeman killed by gunmen in Papua

Indonesia's state news agency, Antara, reports a group of gunmen shot and killed a Mobile Brigade police officer in Mulia in the Puncak Jaya regency of Papua on Monday morning.

Puncak Jaya police chief, Aleks Korwa, says the officer was attacked by four unidentified men, who shot him in the neck and seized his rifle.

The police chief has refused to speculate on the identity of the perpetrators or the motives behind the attack.
