Papua New Guinea's Opposition says it is preparing to move a vote of no-confidence in Sir Michael Somare's National Alliance led government.

The Opposition Leader, Sir Mekere Morauta, last week told local media that they are poised to strike and bring a change of government.

The Post Courier newspaper reports him saying the Opposition is intact while the Government is fatally fractured and divided.

Sir Mekere says there is a great deal of unhappiness and uncertainty in the coalition.

He confirmed to the paper that the Government has been offering members of the Opposition Cabinet posts to entice them to defect.
