The Health Ministry in Fiji has dispatched teams to villages and settlements around the country as it seeks to contain the recent typhoid outbreak that has affected most regions in the country.

A Ministry spokesperson, Iliesa Tora, told the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation that 92 cases has been confirmed, up from 33 last Tuesday, the day a typhoid alert was issued.

Mr Tora says the Ministry can only do so much and urges the public to practice good hygiene to control the outbreak.
