Samoa's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Australian High Commission join forces tomorrow to clean up the reefs and lagoons damaged by last year's tsunami for the village of Poutasi.
More than 100 people are expected to roll up their sleeves to clean up the waterways and beaches in Poutasi, which was hit particularly hard by the 29 September tsunami.
The cleanup is the first in a series of "Clean Up Samoa" events focused on tsunami-devastated areas.
The initiative is being sponsored by the Australian High Commission and led by the Division of Environment and Conservation, within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
The Australian High Commissioner, Matt Anderson, says his country wants to continue supporting the recovery and reconstruction effort in Samoa.
